You can change your whole life in 6 months—if you take back your 5 to 9.
How To Stopped Wasting Your Evenings After Work (5-Easy Step Plan)
That’s how I went from a $50K job I hated to making millions working for myself. If I had to do it all again, here’s exactly what I’d do.
1. Sacrifice Comfort for 6 Months
Most people fail because they won’t sacrifice. Sacrifice sounds sexy… until you’re skipping time with friends, doing hard things alone, and staying committed when it’s tough. But here’s the truth: your current life is built on how you spend your time. You want a different life? Spend your time differently.
Tie your sacrifices to your vision. That’s how you stay locked in—even when people doubt you. I’ve been called a gold digger and told I only succeeded because of who I married. And 10 years ago, I might’ve believed it. But now? I know what I sacrificed. And that’s power no one can take from me.
Be honest with your circle—let them know your time is changing. If they don’t support you, cool. Move on.
2. Own Your Time
Audit your day—every minute—for 6 months. Your 5 PM to 9 PM is gold. Don’t build your dream during your 9 to 5; do your job well and use your off-hours to build what’s next.
Two to three hours every evening should go to study and application. Study alone isn’t enough. I studied public speaking for years—thought I was growing. I wasn’t. You only grow when you apply.
So, learn Canva. Then use Canva. Inflow must equal outflow. Study + Apply = Progress.
If your commute is killing time, fix it. Move closer or at least turn that drive into a learning zone—podcasts, audiobooks, whatever. But don’t waste that time. If your commute cuts into your 5 to 9, you’ve now got a 6 to 9. Use it wisely.
3. Eliminate Low-Value Tasks
Rich people don’t run errands because time is their most valuable asset. Want to earn like a millionaire? Stop spending time like someone earning $50K.
Outsource. Get groceries delivered. Work out at home. Prep your meals. Early in my journey, I ate Lean Cuisines every day—microwaved in 3 minutes—so I could keep grinding. It wasn’t glamorous, but it worked.
Audit your last two weeks. Where can you batch or outsource tasks? Reclaim that time for high-value work.
4. Earn Your Fun
No dinners out. No Target runs. Not until the work is done.
Use fun as a reward. When I hit my fitness goals, I’d buy a piece of clothing. During crunch time in business, I earned my weekly Target trip only if I stayed on track.
Sacrifice is hard. But small treats along the way help you stay the course.
5. Learn Faster Than Everyone Else
Want to change your life? Learn fast and implement faster.
You don’t need a college degree. You need a system. Use ChatGPT to build you a 6-month learning plan—with quizzes, assignments, and practicals. Tailor it to your schedule and goals.
Just remember: learning without action is useless. Real confidence comes from competence, and competence comes from doing.
